Educational Tools

All too often we hear stories of family members confused and anxious at having to make a medical decision for a loved one without knowing the patient’s wishes. The impact of this burden extends beyond the medical care setting in which the decisions take place, often taxing the health and well-being of those left to make the decisions. The CHAT project aims to alleviate the additional emotional and spiritual suffering that often falls on the shoulders of families and loved ones of patients in need of medical decisions but who no longer have the capacity to make medical decisions for themselves.

CHAT provides free educational tools for public use, with hope that these tools will be accessed and used by the community-at-large, clinicians and lawyers to foster meaningful conversations about advance directives.
